Weddings Resorts - Kewarra Beach Resort Cairns

We (Small Guide Travel) have chosen Kewarra Beach Resort as our favourite Australian resort for weddings and honeymoons. In choosing Kewarra we considered the following:

• Accessibility - only a 20 minute drive north from cairns airport so affordable without the hassle of 'island hopping
• Location - in Tropical North Queensland between Cairns and Port Douglas with access to attractions like The Great Barrier Reef, The Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation and the Cairns Hinterland
• Climate - we wanted a tropical location with a beach and balmy ambience
• Luxury with value - all the facilities you would expect from a quality resort without breaking the bank
• Friendly and enthusiastic staff (they are lovely people!)

Overview

Tranquil, private and secluded, Kewarra Beach Resort is just south of famous Palm Cove in Tropical North Queensland (about 20 minutes north of Cairns). It is perfect for romantic getaways for couples but is still child-friendly. It is a resort that could be described as 'casually elegant' and offers relaxation from the moment you walk into the welcoming reception area. There's a range of accommodation to suit different needs and budgets, excellent dining options, abundant birdlife in the natural tropical habitat and plenty of facilities and nearby tours and attractions. Courtesy coach transfers to/from Cairns airport are included. Kewarra also has its own exclusive private island (Double Island) just ten minutes away).

Dining

For us, dining is very much apart from your overall holiday/honeymoon experience (i.e. you expect more than just 'food'!). Kewarra's main dining option is The Lagoon's Restaurant and the chef & team are innovative, creative and know how to get the most from local produce (e.g. tropical fruits and seafood). With the backdrop of native birdsong, the ambience is perfect for a sumptuous breakfast! There's also the Nautilus Beach Café & Bar located at the high tide mark on the private beach for light meals and cocktails. The kitchen can cater for special dietary requirements.

Tours & Attractions

While it may be hard to leave your resort, in some ways it would be a shame not to with some of Australia's most famous, spectacular and rewarding attractions on your doorstep including the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation and the varied attractions on offer around Cairns and Palm Cove (Kuranda, Atherton Tablelands). You can choose to have the ceremony on the beach with the Coral Sea as a backdrop or in a private area within the lush tropical gardens.
