Romantic Breaks

The Weddings Resorts Of The Cook Islands

We have selected a few special accommodation properties on the main island of Rarotonga and the tropical paradise of Aitutaki.

On Raro (as the locals call Rarotonga) we have chosen the Pacific Resort for its quality accommodation, Muri Lagoon location and a perfect setting for weddings. Sokala Villas, also on Muri Lagoon, will suit some couples (7 villas, 5 with their own pools) on a bit more of a budget. Manuia Beach is a boutique hotel with 20 Polynesian styled rooms, while Takitumu Villas is a special property in a wonderful location for both accommodation and a private wedding. The Rarotongan Resort and Spa will suit couples with guests, especially if they have children.

On Aitutaki we have chosen the beautiful Pacific Resort (really is to die for!). It doesn't exactly fall into the budget honeymoon category, so if you would like some less expensive options on Aitutaki, email us and we will work with you to create a special romantic holiday that won’t break the bank.

Visit our Cook Islands wedding packages section for details of resort wedding packages available.

Alternatively, if you would like a ‘Robinson Crusoe’ experience or a resort that is children friendly, again, drop us a line.

Sokala Villas
Wedding Packages

The 7 Sokala Villas are in a stunning waterfront location on famous Muri Lagoon with 5 of them having their own private swimming pools surrounded by wooden decks. The villas feature slate floors, natural pine interiors, kitchenettes, separate bedrooms with king-size beds, spacious living areas. Fine dining is available at Flame Tree Restaurant, located within easy walking distance, and there are a number of other restaurants and beach bars nearby. The Sokala Villas are particularly popular with honeymooners and Sokala's stunning lagoon backdrop makes it ideal for small romantic weddings.

Royale Takitumu
Wedding Packages

10 beautifully appointed 1 bedroom Polynesian-styled villas on a magnificent dazzling white sand beach right on the fabulous Titikaveka lagoon on the south side of the main island of Rarotonga. Set amongst 1.3 acres of palms, hibiscus and lawns, each villa is air-conditioned and has a king bedroom, luxury bathroom with spa, kitchen, lounge, and verandah. Children under 12 are not catered for.

Pacific Resort Rarotonga
Wedding Packages

Located on six acres of tropical gardens and fronting onto beautiful Muri Beach, Rarotonga's premier resort is a 64 room boutique hotel featuring a private waterway, pool complex and restaurants right on the beach. This intimate collection of one and two bedroom apartments and villas, with garden or beachfront locations, are all air-conditioned or fan cooled and with modern Polynesian decor and furnishings. Cuisine in the beachfront restaurant and bar is Polynesian inspired, as are the lagoon and beach activities, including the 'massage' and 'tattoo'. The resort also features an inland freshwater pool, 24-hour services, rental vehicles, a variety of tours and outer island excursions. Elegant and informal, Pacific Resort Rarotonga makes a desirable setting for memorable weddings and honeymoons.

Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa
Wedding Packages

This resort is one of Rarotonga’s largest properties where modern comforts blend with the charm of traditional Polynesia. Set on Aroa Beach on the shores of Aroa Lagoon (the Lagoon of Love), The Rarotongan is on the island's sunshine southwest coast where guests can enjoy all-day sun, stunning sunsets, all-tide safe swimming and excellent off-beach snorkelling in the traditional marine sanctuary directly in front of the resort. Expansively laid out amidst six acres of hibiscus, banana and coconut palms, none of the Resort's buildings are higher than two storeys, and most of The Rarotongan's 156 rooms & suites are set on absolute beachfront.

Manuia Beach Boutique Hotel
Wedding Packages

Set among swaying palms and contrasted by the white sand beach and sparkling blues of the Rarotongan lagoon, the Manuia Beach Hotel is the perfect romantic getaway with a focus on romance - children under the age of 12 are not allowed and there are no televisions. Accommodation is stylish with the accent on comfort. Each of the 20 Polynesian-style thatched bungalows feature a queen-size bedroom and a spacious verandah where you can enjoy the gentle sea breeze with a delicious tropical cocktail or a private candlelit dinner for two. Of the two restaurants, one is located right on the beach overlooking the lagoon, while the other offers a more sophisticated atmosphere with traditional Cook Island service and a fine à la carte menu. Overlooking the lagoon is the swimming pool and spa which tempts you to simply let the cares of the world float away.

Pacific Resort Aitutaki
Wedding Packages

Pacific Resort Aitutaki is the newest boutique property for the Cook Islands. With 17 acres of tropical forest and over half a kilometre of white sand beach, the resort creates the gracious days of a bygone era through Polynesian architecture, colonial furnishings, fine food and beverage and natural island hospitality. Villas are scattered amongst manicured tropical surroundings to maximise privacy and the spectacular views of the beach, lagoon and Pacific Ocean beyond. Modern facilities are disguised in the colonial ambience of the rooms that are spacious and air-conditioned, with polished wooden floors, thatched roofs and expansive cool verandahs. The cuisine, international and Polynesian inspired, promises to reveal tastes and aromas that are exquisite and stimulating, with wine selections to complement the passion that creates the food. All this with spectacular scenery and awe-inspiring sunsets. Sunbake by the freshwater pool as an alternative to the crystal clear lagoon only a few steps away. This is another fine example of the Cook Islands flair for romantic hospitaility.
